After a great start to the season for some new teams, title contenders the Premier League is heading towards matchweek 2.
Liverpool vs Burnley
Liverpool began their season with a convincing win over newly promoted Norwich City. The best news for them was that Virgil Van Dijk played the full 90 minutes of the match. Mohammed Salah began the season with a bang as he always does, scoring 2 goals. Burnley on the other hand started the campaign with a loss against Brighton conceding 2 late goals.
Last season Burnley ended the reds unbeaten league record after 68 matches which saw them go through a horrific run of form. Liverpool will try to avenge with their supporters their to cheer for them.
Aston Villa vs Newcastle United
After a great transfer window, Aston Villa were tipped for much success but they began their season with a defeat against Watford. One of their new signing Danny Ings got on the scoresheet but it was too late by then. Newcastle United on the other hand were involved in a six goal thriller coming out on a losing side against West Ham despite scoring first twice.
Aston Villa are unbeaten in their last six Premier League matches against Newcastle and will try to continue that with their new signings settling nicely. Newcastle secured their first signing of the season in the form of Joe Willock who will play against Villa.
Crystal Palace vs Brentford
It was not a great debut for Patrick Viera as his side were convincingly defeated by Chelsea. The same cannot be said for Thomas Frank however, whose bees stung the gunners for a shock win in the opening night. Patrick Viera will have to get used to his team fast with Brentford hungry for more.
Leeds United vs Everton
Elland road will be packed again to see their side play in the premier league again as they had to wait due to Covid. Leeds United however didn’t get the best of start losing 5-1 against their bitter rivals Manchester United. But we all know how Marcelo Bielsa likes to play and they will get back on track.
Everton did get a better start winning against Southampton under their new manager Rafa Benitez. The Toffes won this fixture 2-0 last season and are looking to get back to back win against Leeds for the first time.
Manchester City vs Norwich City
It was not the best of start for Pep Guardiola as they lost against Spurs on opening day. But with a lot of first teamers coming back after their holiday surely they are going to get better. And with new signing Jack Grealish settling in nicely, they are going to be strong opposition to face.
Norwich city has a tough fixture to cope after losing to Liverpool on the opening day. But they surely remember what they could do against Manchester City. With new signings getting fitter and used to Premier League, they could easily cause the upset again.
Brighton vs Watford
Brighton got off to a flyer with a win against Burnley. Graham Potter side are yet again tipped for a relegation battle , so the win against Watford will give them nice confidence going into this season.
Watford are back with a bang in the Premier League defeating Aston Villa in a 5 goal thriller. They have to continue this momentum if they want to stay in the Premier League for few more seasons.
Southampton vs Manchester United
Southampton didn’t get to the best of start despite scoring early against Everton. They would want to get a decent start this season as they are one of the favourites to go down. And who better than Manchester United who scored 9 against them last season.
For Manchester United though, they couldn’t have got a better start, winning 5-1 against Leeds. And with Jadon Sancho and Rafael Varane yet to start, they are hoping for the same result as last time.
Woverhampton Wanderers vs Toternham Hotspur
Wolves lost the first game against Leicester City and will be hoping to bounce back against Tottenham who are being managed by Nuno. Wolves fan are hoping to see the same Raul Jimenez as he was before the injury.
Nuno guided his new team to a victory against the reigning champions and will be hoping for a nice homecoming to his previous club with his new team on the winning side of the match. Tottenham were without their star man Harry Kane against City and he is still a doubt if he will play or not. If he does he would want to show Manchester City why they would want him in their team.
Arsenal vs Chelsea
Arsenal lost their opeaning match against newly promoted Brentford due to which the fans are raising a lot of eyebrows on how the club is being run. They will face Chelsea whom they beat twice last year and will be hoping to do the same.
Chelsea on the other hand had a dominant victory against Crystal Palace. And with the arrival of Romelu Lukaku they are going into this season as favourites for the title. So they would want to keep the pressure on the big teams and keep winning.
West Ham United vs Leicester City
The two clubs who are trying to break into the top 4 will finish the matchweek for us. West Ham started of with a decent win against Newcastle coming from behind twice. They will be hoping to continue their great form from last season against their top 4 challenger.
